Behind Every Smile is a Story

“Dentistry isn’t just about fixing teeth — it’s about restoring confidence, comfort, and joy. Every smile I design is as unique as the person behind it.”

Meet Dr. Gelareh Asadi DDS MS

Dr. Gelareh Asadi (AKA Dr. Glee) was born into a family of dentists — but her story is anything but ordinary. With over 20 years of experience, two dental degrees, and a teaching position at USC, she blends deep clinical skill with heartfelt, human care.

From simple cleanings to complex reconstructions, Dr. Asadi treats each case with precision, patience, and purpose. Her favorite part of the job? The moment her patients see themselves differently — smiling wider, standing taller, feeling proud.

Because to her, dentistry is about more than teeth. It’s about transformation.

Serving patients from Encinitas, Carlsbad, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Solana Beach, Carmel Valley, Del Mar and North County San Diego

Your mouth is the gate of your body. You want to make sure you can catch any dental issue early before it becomes a problem. American Dental Association (ADA) recommends that adults and children have a professional teeth cleaning and exam at least twice a year. If you need more attention with your oral health , we definitely discuss that with you.

Good oral hygiene and healthy diet are so important to prevent dental cavities. We recommend brushing and flossing twice a day and professional cleaning at least every 6 months. There are many conservative and preventive approaches that could help with preventing cavities. Ask us and we will be happy to provide you more details on that.

Don’t worry if you do not have insurance or you are underinsured, we do offer membership and discounted plan to make it affordable for everyone. You deserve having a beautiful smile.

Definitely! We do offer interest free payment plans and financing options to make affordable dental treatments for our patients.

We accept most PPO insurance plans. Call our office and we’ll be happy to verify your benefits before your visit. We also recommend confirming coverage directly with your insurance provider, as individual plans may have specific limitations or requirements.

Many people think of dental insurance as a security blanket that will cover most costs in a dental emergency, similar to other types of insurance. However, dental insurance typically does not work that way.

Most dental plans are designed primarily to help patients maintain preventive care, such as routine exams and cleanings, so that problems can be detected and treated early. Coverage for other procedures usually depends on the specific plan, and insurance rarely covers the full cost of treatment.

In many ways, dental insurance functions more like a contribution or discount toward care rather than full coverage for all dental expenses.

Our team always reviews your benefits and provides the closest possible estimate of your insurance coverage. However, this estimate is not a guarantee of payment, since the final determination is made by the insurance company after the claim is processed.

Most importantly, treatment recommendations should be based on each patient’s individual dental needs and long-term oral health, not solely on what an insurance plan chooses to cover.

Dental insurance plans are designed by insurance companies to provide limited benefits for certain procedures. Coverage decisions are based on the details of the plan, annual maximums, and rules set by the insurance company—not necessarily on what is best for your individual dental health.

Because every patient’s situation is different, treatment recommendations are made based on clinical findings, long-term oral health, and the most appropriate treatment options, rather than strictly on what an insurance plan chooses to cover.

In some cases, insurance may cover only part of a recommended treatment, offer an alternative option, or deny coverage altogether. This does not necessarily mean the treatment is unnecessary—it simply means the insurance plan has different limitations.

Our goal is always to help patients understand their options and make informed decisions about their care. We will gladly review your insurance benefits, provide estimates when possible, and answer any questions so you can feel comfortable with your treatment plan.
